Control panel for a 500 kW natural gas generator
A generator control panel designed in 3D down to the last terminal, sized to fit a compact enclosure and delivered with full wiring documentation.
The customer needed a new control panel for a 625 kVA natural gas generator set.
Design
We built the whole panel in 3D from the manufacturer models of every device: relays, sockets, terminal blocks, power supply, surge protection, fuse holders, switches and wire duct. Every device was placed on the subpanel and the assembly was checked for interference before any parts were ordered.
Documentation
The customer received:
- A dimensioned layout drawing of the subpanel and door
- A wire schedule with every wire number, from and to
- A terminal schedule with every landing on every terminal block
- A device list with tag, part number and mounting for all 84 devices

The engine
The Caterpillar G399 engine this panel runs is in our shop for a rebuild. The job is still going, and we will add photos as it goes.
